1) PRE S.O.C. ENGLISH PREPARATION

RATIONALE

 Program is design to the needs of enhancing English proficiency to the RMAF officer before entering SITU. The course requires the student to adopt and adapt NLP, English Communication, classroom video and Power Point elements. It encourages participants to take a constructivist approach to their learning. Face-to-face workshops are added for blended delivery.

OBJECTIVES

·         Identify some of the niche associated with learning English to RMAF officers

·         Identify the greatness of using songs, Neuro Linguistic Program (NLP), Fish philosophy and games to enhance English absorption

·         Be able to stand tall when you are conversing in English

·         Must be able to write, converse, communicate, present, understand English

2) PRE FOREIGN MILITARY EXCERSICE ENGLISH PREPARATION     (Elementary level)

RATIONALE

To help develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. This program is also to aim enhancement in the usage of vocabulary in daily speech and writing of report or presentation.

Interesting and relevant texts from real sources will help you to develop your reading skills and acquire essential vocabulary.

Authentic listening texts based on interviews with people and experts in their field will develop your listening skills as well as expose to certain dialects and slang of different English spoken country.

Our materials help to develop your skills and improve your communication in key areas like presentation techniques and public speaking skills, taking part in and managing meetings, telephoning and social English.

Realistic writing tasks such as e-mails, letters and reports reflect the real world of correspondence.

RATIONALE

Learning English – Primary Essentials is a development course for personnel of RMAF before entering basic specialise school. The course contains audio, classroom video, communication and interpersonal elements. It encourages participants to take a constructivist approach to their learning.

OBJECTIVES

·         Identify some of the key issues associated with learning English to RMAF Personnel

·         Identify different techniques for using songs, Neuro Linguistic Program (NLP)   and games to enhance learning

This course will build on your basic knowledge of English and develop your ability to use English communicatively. You will become more fluent and be able to use English grammar more effectively.

The aim of this program is for you to develop your communication skill in English. You will do speaking and writing activities and focus on grammar and vocabulary.

Throughout the programme you will develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Regular speaking tasks will give you practice in talking about a variety of topics. Listening material consists of short extracts, mini-dialogues and longer texts, including interviews, songs, stories and conversations, to help you develop your skills in this area.

To build up your reading and writing skills, you will work with a variety of texts including e-mails and letters, narratives, mass presentation and reviews.

Throughout the course you will focus on developing pronunciation, motivation, interpersonal, leadership and learning skills.
